Ply — Privacy Policy

Ply is a filament-inventory app for 3D-printing hobbyists. It is built so that we — the developer — never see your data.

What we collect

Nothing. Ply has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or usage data.

Where your data lives

On your device. Your spools, weights, print history, drying records, and notes are stored in a local database on your iPhone or iPad.
In your own iCloud (optional). If you purchase Lifetime Pro and are signed into iCloud, Ply syncs your inventory through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). That data is stored in your personal iCloud account, protected by Apple's security, and is not accessible to us.

Device features Ply uses

Camera — only to photograph a spool label or sample a filament colour, on demand. Images are processed on-device and never uploaded.
NFC — only to read or write a spool tag when you ask. Tag contents never leave your device (except via your own iCloud sync, above).
Notifications — optional, local-only low-stock alerts. Nothing is sent to a server.

Network use

Ply periodically downloads the public filament catalog (the community Open Filament Database) to keep its built-in list of filaments current. These requests fetch reference data only and contain no personal information about you. Ply works offline; this refresh is skipped when you have no connection.

Purchases

The Lifetime Pro unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details.

Data export & deletion

You can export your inventory as CSV at any time (Settings → Data), and delete all data by deleting the app (plus your iCloud data via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud if sync was enabled).

Children

Ply is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Since Ply collects nothing, changes are unlikely.
