Common questions
How does Ply know how much filament is left?
Put the spool on a kitchen scale, tap Weigh, and type the total weight — Ply subtracts the empty-spool weight and shows exactly what's left, in grams and meters. Or log prints as you go and it keeps a running total.
Can I log a print from a sliced file?
Yes. Share or "Open in Ply" a .gcode or .gcode.3mf from Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer or Cura — Ply reads the slicer's own estimate and logs it against the matching spool in one tap.
What do I get with Lifetime Pro?
Unlimited spools, iCloud sync across your devices, full analytics, and CSV export — one purchase, no subscription. The free version is fully functional up to 15 spools, including NFC, drying, low-stock alerts, and the widget.
I bought Lifetime Pro but it's locked / I got a new phone. How do I restore it?
Open Ply, go to the paywall (Settings, or the Stats tab's "Full analytics" card), and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account you bought it with — the unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so it restores for free on all your devices.
How do I sync across my iPhone and iPad?
Sync is included with Lifetime Pro. Sign into the same Apple Account and enable iCloud on both devices; your inventory keeps itself in sync through your own private iCloud. No account or setup in Ply is needed.
Which NFC tags work?
NTAG215 (or larger) 25 mm tags/cards. Ply reads and writes the open OpenSpool format, so tags aren't locked to Ply.
Is my data private?
Completely. Everything stays on your device and in your own private iCloud. No accounts, no tracking, no ads. See our Privacy Policy.
